Managing Cold & Flu

Strict Hygiene Routine & Ventilation

We ensure that every seat and desk is carefully disinfected after each use to ensure each learning space is clean and sanitised for the next student. All touchpoints such as doors and taps are disinfected at the end of each session. We have regular ventilation maintenance and a HEPA air purifier in the centre to improve air quality.

Sick Child Policy

To ensure we are proactively minimising the risk of any illness-causing germs coming into the centre we have a Sick Child Policy in place.

We understand caring for a sick child is difficult enough without also having to worry about Kumon homework as well, however, we must take every illness seriously for the health and safety of our team and students. As such we want to ensure you can collect new homework as easily and quickly as possible when your child is unwell.

If your child is unwell keep them at home! We ask that you let us know they’re unwell and do not bring any books into the centre that your child has been handling while unwell as we cannot disinfect the paper pages. This is made easy by our digital Google Sheets recording system, please make sure your child’s personal Google recording sheet is up to date and we will assess it and prepare new work for collection from the blue collection tub outside the centre. This tub stays outside the centre even when we are closed, so you can collect their homework whenever convenient. Once the work is ready for collection we will let you know via email or if you’re on WhatsApp we’ll send you a text.

Shared Stationery Disinfected

As a Kumon classroom, we have some spare pencils, erasers and sharpeners for students to borrow when they inevitably forget their own stationery. However, shared stationery often harbours germs and can contribute to the spread of illness. As such we disinfect any borrowed stationery after use, and it is essential your child brings lots of their own pencils, erasers and red marking pens to class for their own personal use.

Strict Adherence to Session Times

All students must wait outside to be invited into the centre and must use the hand sanitising station before entering the classroom. Please ensure your child dresses appropriately for the weather while they wait for their session to start.

We thank all of our Kumon families for their support and cooperation. Our promise to our Kumon families is to always ensure we stay up to date on the best practise for our centre, continue to adapt and change so that we can prioritise your health and safety first and foremost while also maintaining excellent academic outcomes.

We look forward to seeing your child at their next Kumon session!
